Tips especially for 1st timers (For whatever they are worth).

Valley of Flowers.

Govindghat to Ghangria is a tough trek.Train well beforehand for a week at least.

At Ghangria,be prepared to survive on bread, noodles and eggs.

MTR ready to eat packs are handy, carry your stock.(Take Dabur's Anardana with you for digestion)

Valley of flowers is huge.

Don't think you can touch it and return in a hurry.

Carry your brunch packs with you.(There is no canteen there.)

Hemkund Sahib.

Expect fog to blind you.

Rent your pony ride, the night before (Cheaper) if you plan to go to Hemkund Sahib, the next morning.

Tie the handkerchief with camphor balls on your wrist & keep sniffing at it for oxygen.

Bathe in frosty water pool at the Gurdwara if you feel you won’t catch cold.

Do not take the Pony ride on your way back,if you are not accustomed to it.

On your way back,if your weary legs feel heavy, message chairs are helpful.

Govindghat

Be well prepared to hear some bad news, like road block due to falling rocks.

Be quick to grab sleeping qtrs for overnight stay and don’t try not to pay attention to the rents going higher by the minute.

Do not fail to get whatever foodstuff you can get your hands on.

Fight for survival has begun.

Make standby bookings for stay & travel before leaving your home.(Don’t think your mobiles will work-carry battery bank)

Good Luck ! Your adventure trip is about to begin.

P.S.(Hope you have prepared your own “must carry” list)

Whatever you do,do not forget to remember peek at Dream Mountain Resort,Joshimath,on your way up-if you need any help.
